NRSG4812 : Nursing Capstone & Licensure Readiness

This course focuses on the student’s development as an evidence-based professional nurse. Reflections of nursing research and educational development will be cataloged as evidence of academic advancement throughout the program. Students will demonstrate evidence based- assignments and future alterations to their nursing practice through presenting a portfolio of previously assigned research documents. This course will also focus on the total aspect of seeking, procuring, and leaving a position and preparations for licensure testing. This course will teach proper skills for Resume writing, looking for job openings, and interviewing skills, and post interview steps. The course will also review the critical thinking and clinical judgement necessary for successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. This combined theory provides students the opportunity to synthesize knowledge needed for the role of the baccalaureate generalist nurse. Students are given expanded opportunities to further develop nursing judgment and utilize principles of management and delegation with a focus on safe, quality care.
