POFM1353 : Medical Insurance Claims Processing

This course provides the fundamental knowledge and skills required in completing the Universal Health Insurance Claim Form for a variety of insurance carriers. This course includes discussions and activities in the processing of claims for commercial carriers, managed care plans, and government programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, CHAMPUS/CHAMPVA Worker’s Compensation and Disability. In addition, students will learn essential skills in serving specialized populations in healthcare, understanding healthcare for underserved populations, planning for a career, and interviews and follow-up communication.
