This course discusses the history, ethical bases, structures and concepts of public health practice. Key terms and concepts involved in public health will be reviewed and students will explore how areas of public health can be combined to impact and promote health and wellbeing at the community level.

This course will provide students with the skills necessary for success in grant writing. Students will learn to develop strong problem statements and designs for grants, seek out resources for funding, identify stakeholders, write a proposal, develop a budget and understand management strategies for the proposed project.
